This is a medium native shrub, growing to 6m. Produces purple fruits that are edible and excellent for jams and jellies,. Used as a fast growing hedge, windbreak and bush tucker plant. Best in warmer zones, not frost hardy.
Germination can be difficult and slow, soak overnight in warm water before sowing. Germination may take many months, don't discard seed if they don't come up quickly, they should eventually emerge.
