This celebrated variety is native to and much loved in Mediterranean Italy where it is THE red onion to use. Notably sweeter than most red onions, it is even used in Gelato, Ice cream and even marmalade in its native region. The bulbs are elongated with red skin and a white centre. Great specialty variety for general red onion use.
