This gorgeous plant has highly scented edible leaves with a sweet pineapple like smell. Pineapple sage produces long spires of red flowers and flowers over a long period. Once established this variety grows in clumps approx. 1m tall. Does well in most climates, tolerates frost easily but will give best flowering in frost free areas, dies back in winter in cold area and grows again in Spring. Prefers a sunny position, can be sensitive to dry conditions so water and mulch well. Leaves can be used for tea, deserts, thai dishes and many other cooking uses. Can be grown in a large pot or in the ground.
