This is a fresh and tangy vegie used raw in salads and cooked in asian cuisine, particularly stir fry's. Quick to mature this is an easy plant to grow and very useful in the kitchen. Note these aren't 'true' shallots and aren't eschalots, they can be used as spring onions or scallions.
Sowing time - Spring - Autumn cool regions, Au-Sp in hot areas.
Prefer sunny position, sow 12mm deep, emerge 12-16 days
Harvest in approx 8-12 weeks after sowing
