Tomatillo 'Michoacan Purple'
20 seeds
This is an unusual little plant, similar to the cape gooseberry in that the fruits are produced on a small shrub and are covered in a distinctive papery lantern. This variety produces fruits that are initially green but ripen to purple when exposed to sunlight. If you don't get good colouring at harvest you can un-husk the fruits and sit them a sunny window for a few days to get a deeper purple. They are easy to grow and low maintenance, the fruits are abundant and can be used for sauces and jams.
Sow Spring and Summer Sow 1-3mm deep in a sunny position, ideal soil temp of 22-25 degrees, emerge in 7-30 days. Harvest approx 72-80 days after sowing
